Yamaha G2 Golf Cart Not Starting. Had starter/generator rebuilt, new battery. I have a yamaha g2 that has good spark. It just sits and pops and farts, but only when i tickle. I have a mid eightys yamaha golf cart that tries to turn over, but will not start. I would start by cleaning and tightening all the high current starting connections (including both battery terminals). It does not react when pulling the choke. When it turns over it spits back or backfire through the carburetor won't start. Getting under the hood the first symptom i saw.
