Vergil's Chair refers to a Devil May Cry 5 mod that alters the chair of Vergil, changing it from Qliphoth to a plastic deck chair. The edit was widely cele. Devil May Cry 5 is still one of the greatest action games to this day.

And some of its series' entries had iconic memes. So today, this video tells the story of how the Vergil Chair meme came to. Me and probably at least a few other people thought that Vergil actually had a plastic chair in the game at the cutscene before the first Vergil fight.

Thing is, where did the whole thing come from, and why is it so widespread? Does Vergil actually sit in the plastic chair Ok so I just finished playing the whole game on easy mode (yes ik what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot) and I noticed Vergil was sitting on a "demonic throne" instead of the plastic chair. The meme is older than that. The actual origin, if I recall correctly, was a meme post about Dante taking away the chair from Vergil. Which was then animated for lulz.

It all started with a series of tweets that eventually became a mod: the idea of Vergil's decadent endgame throne getting replaced by those scrape. The idea started when browsing trough the game's props and I noticed that the black tree throne Vergil spawns is literally called sm1130_vergilchair_01. So the most logical conclusion was to replace it with another chair and the plastic one from mission 2 was the funniest option.

Remember the part when Vergil was sitting on top of the Qlipoth and then Dante came to challenge him for the Yamato,someone modded a plastic chair to the part of the Qlipoth where Vergil sits.
