Lexus Sunroof Noise. Took me ages to trace but turns out it was right above. Last summer a noise i can only describe as sounding like marbles being shaken in a cardboard box started. Trying to force it shut while the motor is burnt out can cause damage to other components in the sunroof/moonroof assembly. A toyota master diagnostic technician looks at a 2013 lexus es350 with a rattling sunroof with a common problem. I am noticing that there seems to be an annoying amount wind noise coming from the sunroof when closed but the shade pushed. We bought a 2016 rx350 with 35000 miles and didn't notice any wind noise from the sunroof on the test drive because we didn't. Anyone resolve thumping noise emitting from leading/hinged side of sunroof? Replace it before the motor completely dies, so that it doesn't get stuck on open. A motor that is most likely on its way out will start making odd squeaking or chirping noises. When the sunroof is on tilt or open completely i'm getting a tapping knocking type sound coming from that area.
