The stock studs are 40mm ( 1.57) long from the end of the stud to the flat of the flange. The rims have a 3.5 backspacing, but they still hit. To clear the steering arms i had to add 1/4. Looking for a longer wheel stud to put some new aluminum wheels on my fj60. The alloy wheels are thicker and the inside edges were rubbing on the steering arms. Ever since i added rear disks, i have never felt comfortable with amt of exposed threads. Unless i've just missed the right thread, there is. I have been doing some research on longer wheel studs for a front disc brake setup. If you are talking about the studs on the wheel hubs being too short, then you have the wrong spacers for an fj, or you are using the wrong type of nut.
