Athena Head Gasket Issues. I bought a n54 cylinder head gasket at 5150, i also put in arp cylinder head bolts and it was machined. In controlled lab testing the athena setup doesn't offer much. The firelock came about due to athena cooper ring failures, also mentioned earlier, at increased power levels. Used athena gaskets and oil seal kits in at least 5 rebuilds. I recently did 2 top ends on a 2005 and a 2006 crf450r using top end gasket sets from athena. Hence why the firelock is capable of 1000whp+. Athena doesn't include all the seals, and the gaskets aren't as good as oem. I've seen a quite a few complaints that some of them end up leaking water and/or oil. These came with multi layer metal. My question is has anyone had issues with athena gaskets for rmz? Only downside is whenever you remove the head you'll have to get them slightly milled around.003.
