Is Simple Green A Good Boat Cleaner. I pretty much use simple green for most heavy duty cleaning but, also use plain white vinegar as it is a great cleaner either straight or in dilution. There’s nothing this stuff can’t do and it has such a nice, fresh scent that i love. Can't imagine why anyone would use it on the outside of a boat. I use it on bicycle chains. Simple green is pretty mild, and works well as a degreaser. Simple green is less harmful than many cleaning agents, but it's still a detergent that uses surfactants to aid in cleaning. Simple green (or our super green) will indeed remove wax or polish, whether you wanted to or not. However, they are not the best. Simple green is a great degreaser. It's alkaline based, so in concentrate form it will tend to etch bare. Also good for jellyfish stings.
