What Is The Difference Between Toyota Altezza And Lexus Is300

The Altezza Gita was the only Altezza with the 2JZ-GE engine, which was also available in the sedan models as well as the Lexus IS300 Sedan. The Toyota Altezza was a significant model in the history of Toyota and Lexus, and it played a crucial role in the development of the Lexus IS series.

There is more aftermarket support for the JDM Altezza rather than our USDM IS300's. Obviously at this point in time, there is no Lexus division in Japan so it's purely a Toyota. That will soon change with Toyota Motor Corp. when they introduce the Lexus division to the Japanese market.

The Toyota Altezza and Lexus IS300 are the same body. From there, the seperation is mainly that the Lexus USDM version has a fleet of options and luxury setups you can get from the company, adding to the price, ofcourse.

Sorry to necro an old thread, but does the standard drivers seat on an Altezza go lower than on an IS200? I can just about fit in an Altezza without a sunroof. With a sunroof, the top of my head rubs against the ceiling (due to the bulge from the sunroof mechanism).

Lexus Is 200 VS Toyota Altezza — Lexus IS I, 2 л, 2001 года | встреча ...

Yep the Altezza is definitely lighter than the IS200 because it has less sound proofing and such, but it probably doesn't make a massive difference. I've never heard of the IS300 being more expensive to maintain than the IS200, but it will be slightly heavier on fuel. Road tax is identical for both so that isn't really an issue (between the IS200 and IS300, not sure what the Altezza is) is300.

The Lexus IS300, being a luxury brand, comes with a higher price tag compared to the Toyota Altezza. The IS300 offers more features and a more upscale driving experience, which justifies its higher cost.

From what i know chassis and suspension components between the two are pretty much the same. But they are extremely dissimilar under the hood. As you said it's a four banger. The drivetrain is also different, the stock is300 came with a w55 and the altezza came with the j160.

The Altezza does not have the same engine as the IS300. The IS300 has an inline 6 (2JZ-GE) and the Altezza has a 4 cylinder turbo. This has been discussed over and over. Please don't make quick and uninformed post like this. Altezza comes in 3 engines 1. 1G-FE, 2.0L I6, this is common on Altezza AS200 and Lexus IS200.

Dare I say the 2JZ-GE in the normal US spec IS300 is the better motor. Cosmetically it'll look the same as the US spec but with it's own grill and that's about it. The one you probably want is the Altezza RS200 (SXE10). It's got the 3S.
