Edelbrock Sp2P 400. Does anyone know if the old edelbrock sp 2p intake is a spreadbore or squarebore and if it only fits with the points. They were designed for the high geared, low compression, smog cammed cars, vans and light pu's of the mid to late 70's. I have an sp2p on the 9.0 to 1 318 in my '86 d150. Had one on a 400 pontiac, lasted about 2 months and went back to factory intake. I read the hype and couldn't get the sp2p off quick enough from my 400. Sp2p gas milage intake, made with small runners to keep velocity up but upper rpm worthless. The engine is internally stock except for a.020. It has a 727 and 2.94 gears.
