Purge Valve Issue Ford Focus St. Ford focus st and other ford models. At first i thought it could be a small leak in the evap system somewhere, but it seems the fault is more related specifically to the evap. The reason the purge valves go bad so quickly is due to the fact that ford used a check valve only rated for a measly 20psi on. I wonder if you flashed your ap tune back after the service was performed, if it would revert to software. Does anyone know whether ford fixed the purge valve on the mk3.5 or is it still an active tsb/issue? From everything i am seeing and reading it is due to the purge valve failing which i had already had replaced during the part recall. Pcm update is the fix. Especially if you've already upgraded, added a check valve, filter, and are closely. I have a 2016, but ford are telling. This can be the fix if your car engine stumbles or idles. This sounds super fishy for a purge valve issue.
