Jeep Wrangler Alternator Squeak. I have a slight feeling that it is a problem with the excite wire, and the rpm is too low to turn on the alternator which resists being turned by the engine. I need to drive it when it is warm to validate if the loud squeal is gone, but with a stethoscope i can still hear a faint high pitched. It's definitely coming from the front of the engine bay, and i'm pretty sure it's coming from. You can try the screwdriver method, but sometimes it's hard to pinpoint the exact location. If you don't hear it in the alternator, check the pully itself, it may be getting glazed. I figured it was an idler pulley or tentioner.
