Bmw 840i Vs M340i

Specifically, how can the M240i, which shares the same engine with the 840i, be only marginally less expensive after four years?

Look great in person. But it is bigger than the 3 series so considerations about parking etc need to be made beforehand. But the other poster is right, id be going for an 840i rather than the D.

As your also looking at the 340i id assume your annual mileage wont be that high, a diesel would cause problems with small journeys. As I started shopping for the M240i, I realized the M340i is not priced too far off in the used market so seriously considering this as well. I'm having a really hard time figuring the answers to these questions using Google.
