Bmw Coolant N54

2008 335i N54 I had my water pump and thermostat replaced at 72K; and now at 90K, I have a massive coolant leak somewhere when the system is under pressure. I suspect that got into the electrical connector causing the 2E84 and 2E7C codes that were triggered this morning when I nearly overheated. Each time I did the distilled water flush; the "Green Color" coolant got lighter and lighter until it was almost clear. At this point, I installed the new expansion tank (Super Easy) and serviced the vehicle with BMW coolant and distilled water mix (about 60% Coolant & 40% distilled water).

Hi Gents What engine coolant should in use on my N54. The water pump and thermostat will be replaced soon. I know it should be a mix of 50% distilled water and 50% coolant.

Just need to know if there is a specific spec of coolant. The N54 debuted at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show and was launched in the 335i model of the E90/E91/E92/E93 3 Series range. Following the introduction of its BMW N55 successor in 2009, the N54 began to be phased out.

The final model powered by the N54 is the E89 Z4 roadster, which was produced until 2016.
