I'm changing the coolant on my 1986 K100RS. The manual specifies 2.8L in equalizing tank. What in the heck does manual mean with "in equalizing tank"? According to the instructions here, I should poor the 2.8L of mixed coolant (60% distilled water and 40% antifreeze) through the system cap until fluid just starts to come from the filler neck and flow to the overflow tank.

I did that, however. I have a 91 K100RS, recently acquired and I want to do a coolant change. I was wondering if there are any shortcut methods that do not require complete removal of the fuel tank.

I have the Clymer manual, but seems like alot of stuff to take off just to get to the radiator fill cap. Coolant reservoir for BMW K100 and K1100. Completely made in stainless steel and welded and then powder-coated in RAL9005.

These mount on the front frame tube on the right side where originally the support of the fairing is bolted. For models that had no fairing fitted at factory the version for the K75 can also be used. Bolts for mounting are included, as is a connecting hose between the tank.

Condition: Good used condition. Part was removed from a 1985 BMW K100RS. I will do my best to resolve the issue.

Shelf 23. Then I add coolant and as I do so massage the hoses until I am confident the air is out. When the collant is up to the cap I then add to the midpoint in the expansion tank.

It takes a bit less than 3 quarts but the block is smaller on a K75 than on a K100. Got it! Not so much a definitive measured amount necessarily. Thank you.
