2008 335i N54 I had my water pump and thermostat replaced at 72K; and now at 90K, I have a massive coolant leak somewhere when the system is under pressure. The BMW N54 is known for its smooth power delivery, nearly nonexistent turbo lag and robust forged internals. It's also known to suffer from a few common issues, one of which is its electric water pump. That's right, the water pump, the component that circulates coolant throughout the engine cooling circuit, is electric.

Hi Gents What engine coolant should in use on my N54. The water pump and thermostat will be replaced soon. I know it should be a mix of 50% distilled water and 50% coolant.

Just need to know if there is a specific spec of coolant. Each time I did the distilled water flush; the "Green Color" coolant got lighter and lighter until it was almost clear. At this point, I installed the new expansion tank (Super Easy) and serviced the vehicle with BMW coolant and distilled water mix (about 60% Coolant & 40% distilled water).
