Bmw Pcv Valve Recall B58

This coverage supersedes the coverage that is provided under the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Program or any BMW Group Vehicle Service Contract that applies to the vehicle. The replacement pressure control valve (PCV) is covered by the remaining portion of the extended limited warranty coverage period. From my reading I see that PCV valve issues are a "known" issue with B58 engines, and that the PCV valve is integrated with the valve cover.

My questions are: -Is PCV valve failure a reasonable diagnosis based on the symptoms and codes described? -The dealer is NOT recommending catalytic converter replacement, to my relief. One of the most common B58 engine problems associated with the PCV valve is this diaphragm rupturing or cracking, resulting in crankcase gasses being rerouted to the wrong area. RE: Recall 22V-xxx: Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve Heater - B11 01 22 BMW AG is conducting a Voluntary Safety Recall (effective March 2, 2022) on certain Model Year 2006 - 2013 BMW vehicles that were produced between January 19, 2005 and October 9, 2013. PCV valve failing would be my guess. The B58 engine PCV valve can be changed out with after-market kits, although BMW makes a kit also (the BMW kit is expensive).

One symptom of failing (or failed) PCV valve is the engine will run fine if cold, but runs rough once it warms up. If the PCV valve is stuck open, the vacuum system wont work correctly.
