Bmw Z3 Electric Fan Conversion

I installed an electric fan and hooked up the power lines to the positive battery terminal and ground point on the body. However what I didn't realize is that once the engine is switched on, the voltage on the battery rises to 14v. This proved too much for my fan and it failed.

TLDR: I need to convert to electric fan on my Z3 with the 3.0L M54 engine. Need an accurate parts list. As well as how to wire the temp switch and keep the aux fan switch as well since there is only one hole on the radiator for the sensor.

When I do a search for an electric radiator fan conversion, I find a whole lot of threads about other BMW's, but none on the Z3 specifically. Anyone have details, maybe on specific fans/part number to buy? I'm thinking about changing over when I pull the radiator and do some maintenance. Anyone have a Z3-specific tutorial?
