The drawings are valid for Z3, 1997.I would say that the plug in the car is wrong. That type of plug do only exist in a totally different place. My 2001 3.0 Z3 power top stopped working.

It was stuck in the down position. The dealer has no idea what the problem is. He was able to put up the top.

Can anyone help. electric roof not working on bmwz3 tried it with ignition on our of gear and foot on break worked two days ago. Folks, I just bought my first BMW - a 2000 Z3 from a private owner.

2 days later, the hydraulic system that opens/closes the top stopped working properly (won't open or close completely). Fluid level is good and motor/pump working. Twisting the T-valve to bypass hydraulic motor allows manual use; but it is VERY heavy compared to a manual top.

So, I'd prefer to just remove the actuator that is. The electric roof does have some bugbears with the electric motors failing; this is normally down to owners manually lowering and raising the roof. The Z3 M roadster is the top of the range option with a 3.2 litre engine.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Bushings in seat are shot.
