Can T Join Gmod Server. I can load up the server menu and see all available servers but it refuses. Friends can't be invited to or join my game even though it is peer to peer. Every time i try to join them, it instead gives a windows showing their game info (their game and what map in the case of gmod). I click a map, then i click 2 players, and my friend can join. Before the february update i could invite friends to join my game if it was on. It just says it failed after 6 retries. And just recently my server does not. I can't seem to join any gmod servers at all. Whenever i attempt to join a multiplayer server of any type i get the error that i have failed connection after four tries. Before testing the solution below you could open cmd and try pinging www.google.com or any other website while trying to join a gmod server and see. This means that the servers run on an outdated version of gmod as the server's admin didn't update their dedicated server to the newest version, so the problem isn't on your end and of course you can't join. It has worked like that forever. I can open the console in gmod and use the command connect to try to join localhost, 127.0.0.1, and {my_ip_address}.
