Drz400 Clutch Not Disengaging. if you're sure it's not a mechanical issue with the clutch, and just a very stretched cable; The fingers get little grooves worn. Came home from a short ride and suddenly my clutch won't. i bought an rsc clutch, and still couldn’t get the slack out of the clutch enough for 1 & 2 finger operation using the handlebar. so i tried to install one of those cheap lever boxes that are supposed to lighten the clutch pull weight on my drz400 s. the drz has rolling resistance when cold and in gear with the clutch pulled in. been scouring forums about drz clutch issues, no help. most common reason for the clutch not disengaging would be a worn basket. i checked the clutch actuator and it's just under 90 degrees to the clutch cable (maybe like 80 or 85 degrees). The longer that it is left the worse it. recently i noticed my clutch was disengaging really early, like as soon as i begin to release the lever.
