Tile vs LVP for bathroom? We are doing a major reno on our apartment, including our small bathroom (tub, vanity, tub surround and flooring are all being redone). We want to put down new tile but our flooring guy is suggesting continuing the luxury vinyl plank (Coretec Pro Plus) that we are putting on the floors outside the bathroom. I had vinyl plank laid on top of my old engineered wood kitchen floor (they just raised the baseboard trim) and had enough leftovers to go on top of 12" ceramic tiles in a bathroom.

Laying vinyl sheet over existing ceramic tiles I have 330mm x 330mm ceramic tiles on my bathroom floor. Is it absolutely necessary to have a levelling screed applied before laying sheet vinyl over the floor? Is there another alternative? Personally I'd prefer tile over vinyl plank for a bathroom or kitchen because it is more water resistant.
