My Quilt Is Too Hot. I found my problem was actually that my sleeping pad was too warm. Problem is.it is just too hot to quilt! When you wash your quilt in cold water, you can enjoy a bright and vibrant quilt every time you step into the room or pull it over yourself. I’m a hot sleeper and was using a 20 quilt and an insulated pad. If the water is too hot, it can cause fading and shrinkage, shortening the life span of your quilt. Overheating causes severe disruption to sleep quality and is far more common a problem than many realise. There are some occasional times when i feel a bit too cold, but when i’m too warm i just stick my leg or legs out or whatever and i’m fine. Cold water also prevents excessive wear and tear and helps preserve colors. It has been in the low to mid 90's up here in new hampshire and my home is not air conditioned.
