When your BMW E90 remains immobile in park despite pressing the brake pedal, the first check should be the parking brake—ensure it’s fully engaged and the lever or switch is properly positioned. Next, verify brake fluid levels; low fluid can prevent full pressure delivery to the transmission. For older E90 models, wear on the parking pawl or gear selector linkage may trigger the issue. Modern E90s often rely on electronic controls, making sensor diagnostics essential. If problems persist, consult a certified technician to inspect the transmission’s shift interlock system and software settings. Regular inspection and prompt attention to warning lights can prevent costly repairs.
