This barn door trend makes little sense on the bathroom. We plan to eventually replace it with something like a pocket door but for the time being, I'd like to add something to the openings in the door to improve privacy/ sound-proofing. Does anyone have any suggestions for how/ what to add? See images below, Thanks in advance!
The pocket door on our bathroom is in bad shape. We are getting ready to sell and my husband likes barn doors and thinks it will be easier to install. Is a barn door okay for the only bathroom in the house? Does it need a lock? Maybe it is because I have lived without one for twenty years, but I feel like a lock when you only have a single bathroom is a bad idea.
I am always running in there. In our older beach home the baths have 24" openings and with the door opened just made the entrance too tight into one bath. So, we hung a 30" barn.
The friggin door! It barely clears the vanity, can't have a bath mat and when the door is open it blocks the shower. I hate it! Can't flip it to swing the other way because of the vanity and accessing the light switch. Can't do a pocket door due to plumbing in the wall.
