Any advice or experience on moving a 4" PVC toilet waste line through two, 2x12 floor joists? Is this stupid or is there some bracing that would help keep the structural integrity of the floor joists in tact? This is a second story bathroom. The floor soil connection is the main problem,its worth having it altered or fit a short projection and bring the back wall out to the cistern. Have fitted a few 'ideal standard Tempo short projection wc' think its 600mm projection,a decent toilet and has shrouded waste pipe (so you cant see the pan connector) Works well and looks modern.
Hi, I'd like to replace our current toilet with a close-coupled toilet. The problem is that the current soil pile comes up through the floor (this is in the family bathroom upstairs). The centre of the soil pipe is 150mm from the wall (see pic below).

I've had a close coupled toilet installed in a new shower room with a concrete floor.
The hole in the floor for the waste is hard against the wall behind the toilet pan. A few years ago I had to replace my old, 1960's downstairs loo as it had a crack in it. I was told that, because the waste pipe went down into a hole in the concrete floor and because of the distance of that hole from the back wall (20cm), I'd need a loo with a concealed cistern in a large, pretty deep MDF unit, so that the toilet would line up with the waste pipe.
But because of the depth of. Floor joists run perpendicular to the proposed waste line relocation so holes/notches are not an option over that 10'D distance. Can I install a rear discharge toilet and run the waste line, with proper slope, back to the original location at the rear of the room above the subfloor and box in/drywall the exposed PVC pipe along the stud wall?
.and into a sort of large pipe, possibly clay. The gap between the toilet's waste and the large soil pipe is filled in with some sort of filler that's cracked and needs replacing. What would you use?
Hello we have a toilet in separate room the toilet is separate from bathroom it in it own room. Does it need a Toilet floor waste we had one before but it got covered up by bathroom renovators is that going to be issue or not.
