Ford Ranger Interior Light Not Working. Light does not come on with dimmer switch. When i open the door or anything the lights come on. I finally figured my no dome light issue. So it seems that the button to turn on the interior lights(front & rear row)((button next to headlight dial) doesn't work for me. You checked the switch to make sure it’s flush, not to the dome light off position, correct? I threw a bulb at it first, and then a tester but found no voltage with the door open or the dome lights dimmer roller clicked over to. Seems a common ranger issue is with the dome light never ever shutting off, it's actually a very easy fix. Did you try using the switch to turn them on? Light does not come on with either door. I can't find out why my dome light doesn't work. Most will tell you to. It was the battery saver relay under the dash, above the gas pedal. (pic showing “dome light off” position).
