The project is located at the Ocean Terminal, in Savannah, Georgia. The Ocean Terminal will play an important role in growing the Port of Savannah's capabilities and provide the most competitive port operations in the country, according to Georgia Ports Authority. The Georgia Ports Authority has approved contracts totaling $65.6 million for container yard work at the Port of Savannah's Ocean Terminal, a 200-acre facility just downriver from GPA's main container port. The renovation will reportedly be funded by GPA revenue bonds issued in 2022.

Previously approved modifications at Ocean Terminal include the procurement of eight ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, the refurbishment of the wharf structure and the building of a flyover providing direct access to US 17. The Georgia Ports Authority Board approved Tuesday a significant investment towards its renovation of Ocean Terminal on Savannah's west side. GPA is moving forward with a $73.5 million project to.
