Dog House Car. Im thinking the term dog house comes from back in the day when a junk yard would have the front clip removed from a car. The dog house is hot rod heaven for all of you that want to build your car from start to finish but may not have space the tools or the knowledge to cover every aspect of an overhaul. It's call that because of the shape and size of the engine cover is about the same size and shape of a homemade doghouse found. In all my years with chevy iis, i've never heard of anyone grafting a 1st generation dog house to a 2nd generation car. We are a community garage packed full of all the equipment and most importantly the know how. A doghouse is what was used on 40hp engines and earlier.
