Boost Leak Bmw 320D. Thanks for the detailed writeup but its widely known that boost issues on the 320d are most likely due to vacuum leaks. Used a smoke machine and added smoke on the entire admission system. Apparently there can be a fault with the fuel pump that can cause similar issues but they tend to be more like hiccups while revving rather. The video has two separate accelerations in 3rd gear from 1500rpm up to about 2300rpm at wot (pedal to the metal). I'm hearing there's couplers on both. Having boost leak problems with a 2005 320cd, the usual issue with the couplings between boost pipes and intercooler. Running aftermarket intercooler with vrsf cp was fine for 10k miles now have developed boost leak. Thought it might be a boost leak (something cracked). It's usually the hoses, they can split which generally leaves an oily residue on the outside of the hoses where the split is.
