I've cleaned mine at least three separate times but it only stops the smell for about 4 or 5 days. Our diaper genie ii contains the stink pretty well, imo. You’ll need to add a deodorizing agent to the bottom of the pail every time you change the bag. Do i not have any other choice but to replace it?? If you already know that your diaper genie smells, it is only going to smell worse in the coming days. We use the official brand genie bags (linen scented).
