In 2010, the City of Easton launched a public art initiative aimed at revitalizing the city's downtown area. The Easton Public Art Committee, in collaboration with the Easton Main Street Initiative, decided to give the city's fire hydrants a facelift, turning them into a walking art gallery for residents and visitors alike. Thus, the Easton Fire Hydrant Art project was born.

Over the years, the Easton Fire Hydrant Art project has expanded significantly. Today, more than 100 fire hydrants have been transformed into works of art, each one a testament to the city's commitment to public art and community involvement. The project has not only enhanced the city's visual appeal but has also fostered a sense of pride and ownership among its residents.

Community Involvement and Collaboration

The Easton Fire Hydrant Art project is a testament to the power of community engagement. Local artists, businesses, and residents have all played a significant role in bringing these artworks to life. The project has also provided an opportunity for students from Easton Area School District to showcase their talents, with many of the hydrant murals being created by young artists.
