Create the Mr. Bump Head

The most recognizable part of Mr. Bump is his distinctive head. Here's how to create it:

  1. Draw a large circle on the red felt or fabric, about 12 inches in diameter. This will be the base of your head.
  2. Draw a smaller circle inside the larger one, about 8 inches in diameter. Cut out both circles.
  3. Cut out two white circles, about 4 inches in diameter, for Mr. Bump's eyes. Then, cut out two smaller black circles for his pupils.
  4. Using the glue gun, attach the white circles to the red felt, positioning them as Mr. Bump's eyes. Then, attach the black pupils.
  5. Let the glue dry completely. Once dry, you can attach the head to a black headband or wear it as a mask.

Design the Mr. Bump Body

Now that you have the head, it's time to create the rest of the costume.

  1. Using the black felt or fabric, cut out a large rectangle to create Mr. Bump's bow tie. The size is up to you, but make sure it's wide enough to cover the front of your shirt.
  2. Cut out two smaller rectangles for the bow tie's ends. Glue these to the larger rectangle, leaving a small gap in the middle to create the bow tie's shape.
  3. Using the white felt or fabric, cut out a small circle for the bow tie's button. Glue this to the center of the bow tie.
  4. Glue the bow tie to the front of your white shirt, positioning it just below your neck.

Add the Final Touches

With the head and body complete, it's time to add the final details to your costume.

  1. Using the black marker or fabric paint, draw a large black dot on the front of your shirt, just above the bow tie. This will be Mr. Bump's iconic bump.
  2. If desired, apply white face paint or makeup to your face to create a white base for Mr. Bump's face. Then, use black to draw his eyes and mouth.

And there you have it! Your last-minute DIY Mr. Bump costume is complete. This simple and fun costume is sure to be a hit at any party or event. Happy crafting!
