Ferrari Color Nocciola

Oddly, finding a paint & mixing code for my car "Bianca Neve" has been quite difficult; so much so that I thought I should start a separate thread on "vintage" paint. I think a thread dedicated to posting information on "vintage" Ferrari paints might be useful for those considering undertaking a restoration in the future. If you've repainted in an original paint colour; please post whatever.

The list below is taken directly from an original Scaglietti Ferrari color chip booklet, dated 1966. The color interpretations are my own visual judgment. There are two more colors than your post, a total of 29.

And, yes, it carries the 4.4-liter V12 engine (numbers-matching, too). The Ferrari came from Maranello in Nocciola Metallizzato, but was later repainted a different color. It was returned to its original color in 2014.

But this this is something else. What you're looking at is a 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, decked out in a rare shade of copper called Nocciola Metallizzato (or metallic hazelnut). Nocciola Metallizzato is a beautiful hue made even more beautiful by being on a Ferrari.

Nocciola translates to hazelnut, and we can see why Ferrari would pick the name for the color, though it's far more metallic and lively than the nut or the gelato flavor. Still, what would you. The code for Nocciola is 106-M-27.

The formulation is available through Glasurit's Color Online system and also in PPG's online system so any good supplier should be able to mix a batch. The Dino did not have a paint code sticker like later models.
