Samsung Q80 65" QLED TV Review: Unmatched Picture Quality

Samsung Q80 65" QLED TV: A Comprehensive Review

The Samsung Q80, a 65-inch QLED TV, is a standout model in Samsung's 2021 lineup, offering a compelling blend of stunning visuals, smart features, and impressive sound. This review delves into the intricacies of this television, helping you make an informed decision about your next home entertainment upgrade.

Design and Build Quality

The Q80 boasts a sleek, modern design with a near-bezel-less screen and a minimalist stand that allows for easy wall-mounting. The back of the TV is cleanly designed, with most connections facing sideways for a neater cable management. The build quality is robust, with a sturdy metal frame and a sturdy stand that keeps the TV firmly in place.

Picture Quality

The Q80's picture quality is nothing short of impressive, thanks to its Quantum Dot technology and Direct Full Array 12X backlighting. This combination delivers deep blacks, vibrant colors, and excellent brightness levels. The 4K UHD resolution ensures that every detail is crisp and clear, while the built-in AI upscaling enhances the quality of lower-resolution content.

Samsung's Object Tracking Sound+ technology simulates a soundbar-like audio experience, with speakers positioned at various points around the TV. The result is a immersive, multi-dimensional soundstage that complements the Q80's impressive visuals.

Smart Features and User Interface

The Q80 runs on Samsung's Tizen OS, which offers a clean, intuitive user interface. The home screen is customizable, allowing you to prioritize your favorite apps and services. The TV is packed with smart features, including built-in voice assistants (Bixby, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant), smart home control, and support for popular streaming services.

Samsung's One Remote is a joy to use, with its sleek design and intuitive button layout. It also supports voice commands, allowing you to control the TV hands-free. The Q80 is also compatible with Samsung's SmartThings app, which lets you control the TV and other connected devices from your smartphone.

Gaming Features

Gamers will appreciate the Q80's gaming-focused features, including AMD FreeSync support for tear-free gameplay, low input lag, and a dedicated Game Mode. The TV also supports Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which automatically switches to the optimal gaming settings when a compatible console is connected.

Price and Value

The Samsung Q80 65" is priced competitively, offering excellent value for money. While there are cheaper 4K TVs on the market, few can match the Q80's combination of picture quality, smart features, and gaming performance.

• Price: Around $1,500 (varies by region)
• Value: Excellent, given the features and performance

Final Thoughts

The Samsung Q80 65" is a standout TV that delivers exceptional picture quality, impressive sound, and a wealth of smart features. Whether you're a movie buff, a gamer, or a smart home enthusiast, the Q80 has something to offer you.
