Nasa has released footage simulating what it's like being sucked into a black hole, a region of space with such strong gravity not even light can escape. The movie starts one thousand gravitational radii away from the black hole and ends at the event horizon, where eventually all light focuses into a single point and vanishes. As the camera loops around, the screen is black toward the black hole's location at the bottom.
The orange disk appears to stretch and arc into a thin line that breaks off into a loop that passes overhead several times. Once inside the event horizon, the screen becomes increasingly black. Take a look inside a black hole with this new NASA video The animation, which simulates the view of someone falling into a black hole, demonstrates how the bizarre objects warp light and space as.
