Industrial Room Eco

There is one special room category for furniture: "Industrial" Any industrial furniture in a room will automatically make that room industrial, regardless of what other furniture is in the room. All industrial rooms contribute 0 room score, regardless of their contents. Thus, putting a bloomery in your bedroom will nullify its SP yields entirely.

Industrial furniture has absolute priority on determining room type, and then there's some logic that appears to seek the highest total value of there are multiple options for room type. A room in Eco is some space encased by building blocks. Rooms are required for crafting stations, Stores, Research Tables and other objects to work.

They can also be a source of Skill Points through Housing. There are 5 room types currently that give housing points, they are: bathroom, bedroom, living room, kitchen, and outdoor. Industrial doesn't give points, and actually negates housing points if placed in a room with furniture.

That's the point of the industrial type. If you want housing points, you have to keep your machinery in separate rooms than your point. Put a bed in one room.

If you have more room and/or care, put some small general furniture in. If something says it's "industrial", don't put it in. It'll nullify the skill points from that room.

Put it in a different room. Power the things that need power and fuel because fireplaces and lights do be needing power and fuel. If the room has any industrial furniture, it is defined as an industrial room and its housing value is reduced to zero.

Otherwise, if it has furniture from exactly one of the categories of bathroom, bedroom, or kitchen, it is identified as a room of that type. A room is a space that is completely enclosed with blocks. Gaps in walls for windows and doorways can be up to 2 blocks wide and 1 block tall or 2 blocks tall and 1 block wide.

You are supposed to get a separate plot in a settlement for industrial purposes and split your residential and industrial deed if you want to get the outdoor housing bonus. On lower collaboration settings you also get additional claim stakes and papers through reading skill scrolls. Work stations don't need an industrial room - if you place a work station in any room, it will automatically become uncategorized and no longer provide any bonuses.
