Water Heater For Bathtub Reddit

Do you have your own water heater in your apartment or fed by a main heater by the apartment that feeds all units? If your hot water is fed by a main, wake up earlier and dont compete with all of the others showering to go to work. If you have your own water heater, a element may be out or the water temp may need to be increased. I'm doing a major renovation of my main bathroom, and I am seriously considering installing a point-of-use water heater for the shower/bath faucets.

The water heater in this house isn't big or powerful enough to fully fill my bathtub with hot water. I can't make serious changes to it because this is a rental. The hope/idea is to be able to take a 1-2 hour soak in the water. Some vendors are saying one is better, others the other. First, the brand new water heater is too small (Let's not get in to why, that will start me ranting about things currently out of my control).

Second, the hot water heater is literally as far away from the tub, and still in the house. Not seen in the pictures, but I do have access to the back of the tub (right side), through a walk. I installed a 95 gallon bathtub as well as a very large shower with 4x shower heads and we installed a Rheem 60 Gallon hybrid heat pump water heater and it is amazing! The water heater has both electric coil heaters like a traditional water heater, but also has the high efficiency heat pump.
