Polyester Shower Curtain Reddit
I have a decorative fabric shower curtain on the outside and a plain heavyweight vinyl curtain on the inside. I want to make my bathroom feel more lighter and thought of having fabric only shower curtains, both inside and outside. Would they prevent water from spilling out? Plus, my shower doesn't have a fan: (or it has a really weak one.

Polyester shower curtains are not made of plastic but can have a similar appearance and feel. Polyester is a synthetic fabric that can be woven to look and feel like other materials, such as cotton or silk. My shower curtains were purchased in the 90s.
Still good. They are polyester (I think) as two separate curtains. I wash them with my white laundry every couple of months.
A single color internal curtain and an outer curtain with a design on it. The outer design has faded a lot over the 25+ years but I have not found anything better to replace. The non-vinyl plastic shower curtains (not the same thing as a shower "liner", which go between the water and the fabric curtain) last a long time with a little care.

Our kitten loved ripping the plastic shower curtain liner, so we replaced it with a fabric one from Target. He still put some runs in it, but that is hardly noticeable. It goes in with the rest of the laundry, but we hang it back on the shower rod after washing.
More than satisfied with the switch. It is polyester but dries quickly.
