Bmw E31 8 Series With S62 Swap From E39 M5

This BMW 850 E31 called Projekt 8 was built by Renner in Miami, Florida. The company replaced the factory V12 with a 4.9 L S62 V8 producing around 394 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm). They also installed an E39 M5 drivetrain featuring a Getrag 420G six.

Manhart swaps the V12 for a 5.0 L S62B50 V8 from a BMW E39 M5. The motor's output is increased to 420 hp and 560 Nm thanks to their tune and stainless steel exhaust. The highlight of Manhart's E31 build is the installation of the S62 5.0.

So I am contemplating building myself an E31 S62 that seems like THE thing to do. My plan is to get a non-running E31 for cheap, and buy a E39 M5 halfcut which goes for about $9000 locally (I'm in Malaysia) and swap everything from that car to the E31. This used to be a 1994 BMW 8 Series E31 in the 840i spec before getting the 850i's body kit and a supercharged S62 engine.

has anyone made the transfer or know of anyone who has made the s62 swap into a e31. would the s62 even fit the engine bay. i think this would make for a very potent m8, even a dinan s3 conversion on top of the transfer.
