Bmw V10 8 Series

A company in Southern California has treated BMW's classic 8 Series to a light, gentle refresh. And by light, gentle refresh, we of course mean completely changing its personality and looks from. The BMW 858 CSL is a unique restomod-style creation based on the E31 8-Series.

Key features include a V10 engine swap from the E60 M5, paired with a manual gearbox. BMW 8 Series with a 5.8L S85 V10 October 10, 2024 E31 Rey Rivera and his company REYN Speed Shop spent four years creating their BMW "858 CSL" using an 850 (E31) chassis and E60 M5 powertrain. The 850 originally came with a V12 but is now powered by a stroked and bored 5.8 L S85 V10 built by CarBahn.

My favorite car, though, was a 1990s BMW 8 Series fitted with a more modern BMW V10 engine, complete with a fully reimagined body and interior. BMW's S85 engine is arguably one of the best-sounding V10 engine ever made. It's a masterpiece from the Bavarian automaker, even if it had its quirks.

Lovingly dubbed 858 CSL after the 8 Series, the 5.8-liter V10, and the E46 BMW M3 CSL-style front bumper, this fellow is an E60 BMW M5 underneath. The original engine displaces close to 5.0 liters. Reyn Speed Shop has created a one-off, first.
