Repeatability - an essential feature of a good restaurant



Have you ever read reviews about a restaurant on portals recommending different places, on social media or on culinary blogs, where you have alternately found good and bad opinions about the same place? One star stood right next to five, and praise for the kitchen was mixed with criticism of the place. Did you consider such a place worth visiting?

It turns out that there are many places that collect both good opinions and strong criticism, and as it is popularly said - there are lies, outright lies and statistics that average the opinion in such a case, because after rating 1 and 5 it comes out not the worst after all 3. Why is this happening? Is it worth visiting this type of place?

One of the most important features of a good chef is repeatability. We expect this not only from chain stores, which, when visited at two different ends of the world, should serve us a dish of a similar standard, for good reason. We want to know what to expect. The restaurant, which has received such different opinions and ratings for a long time, apparently does not maintain such standards, and the chef and the staff do not form a team that cares about the well-being of the place and, above all, its guests.

On the one hand, fantastic dishes, on the other, dirt in the restaurant, or original products, but unpleasant service and long waiting times, no additional services, etc. - all this is mixed up in the minds of the guests who go to the restaurant. The correct manager or owner of such a place should react immediately by introducing control to himself. Because along with the lack of repetition, the dissatisfaction of guests grows and the opinion about a given place decreases. According to the rule that a dissatisfied guest will tell about 8 friends about a bad visit to a given place, and a satisfied guest will only tell two of them, it can be assumed that over time the restaurant will be flooded with more and more bad opinions, and this will lead to only one thing - failure.

So is a place full of various opinions worth visiting - not necessarily for several reasons. Firstly, it is a considerable risk borne by the guests, because they are never sure which version of the restaurant they will hit, secondly, excessive caution, for example, when choosing dishes (because some were tasty, others were not) will take away their pleasure during the visit, and what is more - careful observation of the crew or cleanliness control will turn a visit to a given place into a kind of nightmare.

A good restaurant maintains a certain standard, no matter which crew works in the kitchen and who serves the guests. Minor mishaps can occur, but should never lead to a huge discrepancy in the full opinion of the restaurant. If you come across a restaurant with such opinions - look for another one. It is not in your best interest to trade the pleasure for the risk of failing the meeting. However, it is the responsibility of the owner of the premises, who should react to such opinions as soon as possible. Give it a chance and come back to reading the reviews in a while - it will be a simple answer for you if something has changed for the better in a given place.
