To execute this, you set your power miter saw to 45 degrees and cut the end of the baseboard. When measuring for this cut, it is often easier to mark the back edge of the board, as this is the edge that will be hidden against the wall, ensuring the longest point of the board extends into the room.
Measuring for the Miter
Accuracy in measurement is vital before making the cut. If the baseboard is already installed on the wall, you can use a miter box to transfer the angle directly to the new piece. Alternatively, you can use a combination square to mark a perfect 45-degree line on the back of the board.
