When the Buffalo Bills joined the American Football League in 1960, they introduced a logo that set the tone for their identity. The original logo featured a side profile of a buffalo head in a shield, rendered in blue and red. Designed by team founder Ralph Wilson, this emblem reflected the team's connection to the city of Buffalo and the state of New York. The buffalo symbolized strength and resilience, traits the team aimed to embody on the field. This logo was used until 1970 when the team underwent its first major rebranding.

The Buffalo Bills logo, particularly the current version, is a masterclass in sports branding. The charging buffalo is a powerful symbol, representing the team's determination and fierce spirit. The color scheme of blue and red is deeply rooted in the team's history and also reflects the colors of the University of Buffalo. The blue signifies loyalty and trust, while red conveys passion and energy. Every element of the logo, from the buffalo's posture to the bold lettering, is carefully crafted to inspire fan loyalty and project a strong team identity.
