Joseph's Journey: A Brief Recap
Before we dive into the coloring pages, let's refresh our memory with Joseph's journey from Canaan to Egypt. Joseph, one of Jacob's twelve sons, was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. He ended up in Egypt, where he rose to prominence, eventually becoming the second-in-command to Pharaoh. When a famine struck Canaan, Joseph's brothers came to Egypt for grain, unaware that Joseph was the one managing the distribution. Through a series of events, Joseph revealed his identity, forgave his brothers, and invited them to settle in Egypt.
1. Joseph's Coat of Many Colors
Our collection of coloring pages begins with Joseph's iconic coat, a gift from his father Jacob. This beautiful coat, described as a "coat of many colors," symbolized Jacob's love and favor towards Joseph. The intricate patterns and vibrant colors of the coat make it an exciting coloring page for kids.
2. The Pit and the Well
One of the most dramatic scenes in Joseph's story is when his brothers throw him into a pit, intending to sell him into slavery. Our coloring page captures this pivotal moment, allowing children to explore the stark contrast between the brothers' malicious intent and the lush landscape of Canaan.
3. Joseph in Potiphar's House
After being sold to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, Joseph found himself in Egypt. Our coloring page depicts Joseph in Potiphar's house, surrounded by the opulence and grandeur of ancient Egyptian architecture. This page offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Egypt and provides an opportunity for kids to practice their coloring skills with detailed patterns and designs.
4. Joseph in Prison
Falsely accused by Potiphar's wife, Joseph was thrown into prison. Despite his circumstances, Joseph remained faithful to God and eventually interpreted the dreams of Pharaoh's cupbearer and baker. Our coloring page captures this moment, with Joseph standing between the two prisoners, holding the symbols of their dreams - a bunch of grapes and three loaves of bread.
5. Joseph Before Pharaoh
When Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret, the cupbearer remembered Joseph's gift and recommended him to Pharaoh. Our coloring page shows Joseph standing before Pharaoh, interpreting the dream of the seven fat cows and seven lean cows. This page is a great opportunity for kids to practice their shading and blending techniques with the varied colors of the cows.
6. Joseph's Brothers in Egypt
The climax of our coloring pages collection is the reunion of Joseph with his brothers in Egypt.
