The Communication Hill Fire, which broke out on the evening of October 1, 2021, was a challenging blaze that tested the response capabilities of the San Jose Fire Department and other agencies. The fire, which spanned approximately 10 acres, was fueled by strong winds and dry conditions, making it difficult to contain.

Located in the foothills of the Diablo Range, Communication Hill is a popular spot for hiking and outdoor activities. However, its proximity to residential areas made the fire a significant threat to life and property.
