Haven't driven the gr86 but I have a Brz MT and its awesome. I actually like the Brz look a lot more than the gr86 in person, after being one of those people who were gr86 or nothing because of the front. Another big thing about the Brz is that you actually deal only with the manufacturer of the car and technicians who know how to work on them.
Saw this nice brz yesterday! : r/ft86

Apparently the only difference according to. The BRZ gets a sport mode (throttle response) that is sharper responding like the GR86. The GR's throttle gets more progressive.
BRZ ages better! : r/ft86

The BRZ is little bit tail happier. They both get retuned steering and shocks. Time will tell if this is good or bad.

So what do you owners think? Used 370Z, or Brand new GR86? BRZ Second-Gen (2022+). My BRZ is basically as comfortable as a typical compact car, because it has IRS its actually better than the crap torsion beam stuff like Mazda 3, older Corollas, Elantras, etc.
Shout out to the dude with the 86 that parked next to my Brz today. If ...

My criteria is shockingly simple, do I get a headache driving the car with no issues going in, my FRS passed this while an RSX totally failed. What's New and What's Different? Building on the original Subaru BRZ's and Toyota 86's compelling shared formula, the 2022 models remain lightweight, rear-wheel drive, and wonderfully affordable. BRZ is several grands cheaper.

I did a search here and it says GR has firmer ride. My question is, are the any build differences between the two? The suspension maybe softer on BRZ, but any other real differences? Can someone explain the price difference? Identical Twins? Not Quite.

Choosing Between the Toyota GR86 & Subaru BRZ February 21, 2023 / Story By Mike Garrett In the decade-plus since their debut, the Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 (formerly Scion FR-S) have always been known as "twins." And for good reason-they are built in the same factory with the same platform, with the same drivetrains and share the same basic styling. The biggest differences are that the front end is different and the 86 has the duckbill. The 86 has a stiffer ride than the brz as well.
Literally just bought my 20 BRZ because I couldn’t find a 22. Now 23 ...

There's more to it, but those are the two big areas that they're different Reply reply tacjos I also belive the throttle is mapped differently in the Toyota vs. BRZ Reply reply kebobs22 There is a slight difference but unless you drive one right after. The brz just seems like the more obvious answer to me, given small differences like it having aluminum knuckles vs Toyota's steel, and therefore less unsprung mass right out of the box.
Just got my 2023 brz and want to know if there is any performance ...

Hey all! I'm new to the forums and have already decided to get a Toyobaru car. Put myself down on a waitlist for the 86 but there's a 2024 BRZ at a local dealer for under MSRP. Going to test drive it tomorrow and I might drive home with it.
Finally bought my BRZ after looking for 7 years : r/ft86
