Trap Team is a pretty big step backward from Swap Force in regards to going for 100%. Level design is more restrictive and gated off in such a way that a major reason why you'll have to replay levels is because you chose the wrong branching path and accidentally progressed the level instead of exploring. Additionally, the elemental gates only open for the new Trap Master characters unlike Swap.

For Skylanders Trap Team on the PlayStation 4, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Swap force or Trap Team (5 year old daugther)". I think Trap Team was a step back for the worse in many ways. Toys For Bob ignored all of the great improvements that Vicarious Visions put into Swap Force from a gameplay standpoint and turned Trap Team into "Giants 2 Cashgrab Edition".

Swap Force has so much more replayability - time trials, score mode, bonus missions, etc. Swap Force! Just kidding. Trap Team definitely has better upgrade pictures.

Swap Force is a lot more accessible. The Swap Force figures aren't as expensive as the trap team figures especially Knight Light and Knight Mare, and don't even get me started on the traps. You'd need one of each type (and Kaos) to experience every villain and some are cheap others are expensive.

Once I got Trap Team, I was saying it's the best in the Skylanders franchise, and it being my favorite, but now the more I play it the more I miss Swap Force. Trap Team to me was a huge downgrade in terms of contents, features, quality, lack of post-game contents and lack of usage for older Skylanders. Also quite expensive if you're aiming for 100% completion unlike Swap Force.

I played the wii version of both swap force and trap team as a kid and it never crashed once. In SWAP Force, they show a 3D character. In Trap Team, they show the character or villain artwork.

I personally think that the SWAP Force health bar is much more polished than Trap Team. Here's a comparison: What's strange about the Trap Team health bar is that when the game was first revealed, the bar was completely different.
