De Carlo 700 By 1960 the 'De Carlo 700 Glamour' was introduced, soon followed by the 'De Carlo 700 Coupé' in 1961. Both the Glamour and Coupé were rebranded BMW's with changes to logo's, upholstery and some other modifications. To emphasize that it was an Argentinean car many references were made to the 'De Carlo' brand.
The BMW 700 is a small rear. Amongst those was Argentina where Metalmecánica SAIC assembled the 700 sedan and sold it as a De Carlo 700 Glamor until 1964 when the same running gear was clothed with a Simca 1000 look-alike body (Metalmecánica also assembled the Simca under licence) and sold as a De Carlo SL. They also assembled some De Carlo 700 coupes in 1961.
Sources. The De Carlo 700 was manufactured by Metalmecánica SACI under license from BMW. The car was named after the owner of the auto company.
BMW 700 saved the German company from bankruptcy. It was manufactured from 1959 to 1965 and 181,411 units were built. The car had been designed by Michelotti.
In Argentina it was [].
