Bmw I3 Bev Rex

After purchasing the BEV in Europe a couple of months ago and loving my i3, I took the plunge last week and purchased another i3 in the USA, except this time I purchased the REx. The first very noticeable difference I felt between the two models was the pickup; I notice a *significant* difference in the acceleration. BMW i3 BEV or BMW i 3 REX? BMW will closely watch sales of the two versions of the BMW i3 to see if its 81 mile range is acceptable or if future BMW EVs need more electric range.

BMW actually dropped the REx option in Europe with the 120Ah models. Of course, REx cars will have more maintenance and potential issues because they have the added complexity of the ICE. Even if it's dead reliable, you're still looking at periodic service for oil, filter, coolant, etc.
The i3 BEV is a little bit lighter than the i3 REx (lacking the gas engine weight) and therefore a little quicker. Both of those are very fast cars! Starting with the 2017 model year, BMW offers the i3 with either a 19 kWh ("60 Ah") battery pack, or a 33 kWh ("94 Ah") battery pack. The former provides an official all-electric range (AER) of 70-80 miles, and the latter 100.

The BEV would fit our needs for a city car, but aside from the range anxiety, the REX seems to offer the advantage of being able to use the car in town at slower speeds, should the battery life fall, say to a 10 mile.
A couple of weeks ago, we were able to get a 2019 BMW i3s BEV from BMW to conduct our InsideEVs 70mph highway range test and the baby Bimmer finished up with 141 miles of range. Here, we have a. BMW i3 owners and owners to be, please vote, and perhaps share your reasoning below too.
I've currently voted "if I had one, it'd be with REx", and that's really just because with one pure BEV I think I'd appreciate the range on the REx over the LEAF and the extra trips/options that could open up.
