Before you point me to related threads, been there, read them. These do not completely cover my problem. Bike: 2008 K1200R Sport Issue: can adjust rebound (proof that the button itself works), cannot adjust preload Funny detail: ESA rear calibration in MotoScan app does work, so the proload adjusting motor is connected and working.

However using switch nothing at all happens. Nothing on display and no adjustment. A bmw mechanic looked at it and was baffled.

Anyone come across this problem. Both front and rear shocks are wired up. The problem with the ESA ended up being no more than the rider (me) not quite understanding how to set it correctly.

Now all setup correctly and very happy with the Suspension. Hey Gang, Bought that 06 K1200R today. Got a great deal but there is one issue on the bike, the ESA does not work.

The suspension feels great, but. If the ESA shows no errors but isn't responding, it could be a wiring issue or a problem with the ESA motor or connectors. Check the wiring harness for damage or corrosion and ensure all connections to the shocks are secure.

Good luck! Common Issues with BMW ESA and ESA II Systems The BMW ESA and ESA II systems are robust, but they're not immune to issues. Common problems include: Sensor Failures: The systems rely on various sensors to adjust the suspension settings.

If a sensor fails, it can lead to incorrect adjustments or a complete system failure. D-ESA error after ESA unit replacement - 2017 R1200 GS Rallye Started with a similar problem like Virkdoc. Was on a tour, by the time the motorcycle got to a service centre the warning light was always on.

At the authorised service centre the computer showed an error of the ESA hydraulic unit. BMW Germany couriered a new ESA shocker unit. ESA Preload update Had the bike in to the dealer twice now.

The first time (a week ago) I had suggested they do the software/firmware update to maybe (?) resolve the ESA preload problem. The tech had the bike for an hour, ran diagnostics, found nothing wrong, BUT was able to get the preload working (and I witnessed it working). I have a K1200R with ESA and find the ride to be bit harsh even in comfort mode.

I have posted across a couple boards asking if I have any recourse and one person mentioned having the ESA on his R1200RT set to a softer setting by his BMW tech. Does anyone know if this is possible on the KR? -r 2004 R1150R 80th Edition 2006 K1200R machew01 Quadruple Lifer Posts: 651 Joined: Sun Mar 20, 2005 12. What are you expierencing with your ESA.

Life of the system/shocks? Warning signs of a system problem/failure? I have 48k on an 06 RT, single rider.
