What does Gazoo mean, and how does this rebranding affect the more familiar TRD and Toyota Racing divisions? Why does Toyota have three different racing arms, anyway? In a short view back to the back, Toyota had 3 performance entities - TRD Japan, TRD USA, and TTE (Toyota Team Europe). Both TRDs were regionally focused, and TTE handled Group A rally, entering Le Mans with the GT-One, and then becoming the F1 team.
after the F1 team essentially evaporated, they relaunched and rebranded as Toyota Gazoo Racing. Toyota Racing will be the name of its German R&D center; what was called Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe. Toyota Racing will develop motorsports tech, handle engine development, and similar go.
GAZOO.com offered consumers a wide choice of products, allowing them to find the best deal available, and this is where the philosophy of providing ever-better cars to the Toyota customer originates. What about TRD? Toyota Racing Development (TRD), on the other hand, is probably a name most of you are familiar with. At Toyota Vallejo, we recognize that performance is a key factor for many of our customers when choosing a new vehicle.
Toyota offers two distinct performance divisions, Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and Gazoo Racing (GR). Call us today! Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe (TGR Europe) is a research and development facility based in Cologne, Germany, with branches in the United Kingdom and Finland.
[4] The GR-branded performance road cars include the GR Supra, the GR Yaris, the GR86, the GR Corolla, and the GR GT. [5]. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) today announced that, to return to its founding principles, it is reverting to the name "GAZOO Racing" to strengthen its motorsports.
Toyota says the rebranding is part of a return to Gazoo Racing's roots, aimed at streamlining the relationship between motorsport engineering and street car development. Yet Toyota decided to provide its consumers with double the variety in performance sub-brands when it launched its Toyota Gazoo Racing ("TGR," or "GR") sub.
